FAQs

Q1: What will it cost to install a new boiler or central heating system?

A: The cost can vary depending on the size of your property and the type of boiler you require. We offer a free, no-obligation, surveyand quotation service to provide you with advice, options and a fixed price quotation for the work.

Q2: Does my boiler need serviced regularly?

A: Yes. All manufacturers stipulate that any boiler should be serviced on an annual basis. Regular servicing helps keep the boiler clean, efficient and safe. This should cut down the risk of faults developing and extend the lifespan of the boiler.

Q3: Why are my radiators hotter at the top and colder at the bottom?

A: This would suggest that you have a build up of sludge in thesystem. Most sludge deposits can be cleared using a chemical 'PowerFlush' and prevented from reoccurring using a 'Magnaclean Filter'. If you would like further information about either of these, please contact us.
Q4: Why are my radiators colder at the top and hotter at the bottom?
A: This usually means that there is air trapped in the top of your radiator. Bleeding the radiator should resolve this problem. If you are unsure how to do this, or it does not resolve the problem, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to arrange an engineer visit.
Q5: Why does the pressure keep dropping on my boiler?
A: This is due to water escaping from the sealed central heating system. Common causes for this and leaks at the radiator valves, where pipework is exposed and open to knocks from vacuum cleaners. These cannormally be repaired by tightening the nut at the valve. If you cannot see any visible leaks and the pressure keeps dropping after it is topped up, please arrange for a heating engineer to investigate.
